Winter Art Intensive!

Hi friends,

For those of you who don’t know me well, here is a small picture of my story. I think I can remember as far back as second grade wanting to be an artist. Since graduating from a Chicago university a few years back I’ve lived the life of mostly a seasonal artist. In the warmer season, I spend a good chunk of my time growing food in my neighborhood, organizing around justice issues, and working with other youth in my community to implement locally based sustainability projects. In the winter time when I find myself with more time on my hands I usually have to pick up hours a various locations to make up for a very small summer income.

After being in this loop for the past few years, seeing myself put art constantly on the back burner, I decided I needed to try something different despite the fact that I knew I would need to take some big risks. So here I am not taking my usual off season jobs and putting art as a priority in my life for the first time ever. I’m honestly really scared, but feeling really excited.

I knew I was going to need some sort of structure to help focus my attention on growing as an artist and entrepreneur so I have decided to do a Winter Art Intensive. For the next 3 months (at least :) I will be clocking 30 hours a week focusing on my art. This will include practicing illustration, creating new pieces, researching, updated my online store, building a stronger online community, submitting work to galleries and publications, and finally having a lot of fun.

Interested in supporting// following me? I will be posting regularly to a few of my pages.

I will have new things for sale on my Etsy page.

If you just enjoy my work and feel like supporting me you can visit my Patron 21 page and become a “patron” of my creative process :)

Thank you so much for your support. Stay tuned for lots of art!!

The Farm of Forgotten Fruits

My friends and I went to an abandoned orchard in Michigan that Peter and I discovered during our bike ride..
There were grapes growing in pear trees...
Lots of apples, lots of pears... LOTS of grapes.
